Geometric Stripey Goodness

What's this?! 2posts in a week! You lucky buggers, this hasn't happened in well over 2 months I'd say.
Well today we have this lovely set of nails.

We had my boyfriends mum staying over at the weekend and as always she came bearing gifts. Amongst copious amounts of Diet Coke, crisps and chocolate she also bought me nail fails and a new striping/dotting tool. This got me thinking that I really need to finally start practising doing stripes. It's something I've never been able to do particularly well but hopefully with this new found will-power (or maybe boredness?!) will help me become a striping goddess....well maybe not a goddess but definitely better than I already am.

For this look I used three polishes and one base/top coat. The polishes were:

So, my striping skills are in huge need of practise but with all this free time until I find a job it is my mission to perfect them!

Hope you like and keep a look out for my next post. You may be lucky enough to get yet another one within the week!

Polka Dottiness and Emotions!

I have definitely been neglecting this blog way too much recently. It will be back up and running very soon I hope, as soon as I get Internet at home!

Unfortunately there's no nail art for today, there is however still a post. As some of you know the past four weeks have involved pretty much the entire top 10 of most stressful things to happen in someones life. I've had my 22nd birthday, my last day of uni as a music student (on the same day as my birthday!) my Dad moved house, first tattoo, final deadlines for uni, friends leaving to move home and a pretty horrific and very difficult anniversary (I won't go into that here but it wasn't a happy one!) to name but a few! It's surprising I'm still sane.

I just want to post a couple of pictures to sum it all up because it has been one of the best months of my life as well as one of the worst!
First off we have a picture of my new baby, I got Belle from Beauty and the Beast tattooed on my arm by the amazing Sam Jones at Talisman tattoo in York ( talisman Tattoo Facebook )

It hurt like a mofo in some places but overall it was a lot easier then I expected. Definitely worth the 6 hours!
Next up I just want to put up a few photos from the Summer Ball, which was also my birthday. This was the most emotional night of uni by far! It was the last day, my birthday and the last day in York for quite a lot of my friends. Having said that it also brought with it tonnes of happiness including loads of cuddly toys and finally meeting up with one of my close friends of 5 years for the first time on campus, she also goes to this uni and I see her almost every week but we've never met up on campus, who knows why not!

This is the beautiful Tanya ( Tanya she's also a model so I kinda hate her for being so beautiful ) and I at York Minster after we kinda watched the sunrise!

This is almost my entire year at uni after our last concert.

Me and my boyfriend finally got a decent photo together. I say decent very loosely, it's a challenge to get us both smiling together so this is the closest we've ever been, just ignore his creepy face!

My favourite.photo.ever. My girls from uni minus Chad who was being a busy bee at sound check! Also how pretty is my dress! I bought it from YUMI years ago and never wore it, as I couldn't afford a new dress I figured I' d whap this one out!

and finally the survivors of our last night! We made it to the Minster at 4.30 am completely missed sunrise(that's the tradition for 3rd years) but we still made it!

So like I said, it was an incredibly emotional month and even more emotional/difficult 3 years at uni but we all made it. I couldn't have asked to have gone to uni with more amazing people. They've all taught me so much and it's amazing how an entire year can bond so well, especially at university. That's how awesome music students are! Now into the real world we go!

and I also promise my next post will actually be to do with nails!

May Challenge!

Once again I am attempting the monthly challenge. Last time I got to the middle column but never finished so maybe this one I'll reach the final column! Here is the May challenge

For the first day I recreated my rememberance day nails which can be found under the tag to the right.

These nails as you can see are my entry for May the Fourth Be With You! Star Wars day! and below are my neon entry. I NEVER do neon so this was an entirely new thing for me!

My next post will be about my newest advenure, having Belle from Beauty and the Beast tattooed on my arm so stay tuned for that!

I've been MIA again but here's an update!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Yet again I've been MIA but I do have the excuse of not having internet at home to use! I haven't had alot of time for my nails recently because my final year at university is getting abit hectic and I have had my first big tattoo done BUT I have managed to fit in my first paid job and a couple of other manis! Here's just a quick roundup of the past month. If you have any questions don't hesitate to get in touch :-) Firstly my first paid job! A friend was off to a wedding and wanted a modern french manicure. She'd seen the amazing ombre nails so that's what we did!

I've only had time to do this other mani, fairly simple but still pretty!

Sorry for the short post! I promise, promise, promise I will write up a full one soon aswell as a post about my new Disney tattoo!

Blue Nails For Autism Awareness Month!

Hello everyone, so as people may have guessed by now, the March challenge kinda failed for me. I will still try to finish it and turn it into the April challenge but we shall see.

For now we have another project! April 1st is the first day of Autism Awareness month and some of us lovelies in the nail community are doing a month of blue manis to help raise awareness!
My mind just doesn't do blue so rather than do every single mani blue I am instead going to have blue as my main colour :-)

http://www.autismspeaks.org/what-autism/world-autism-awareness-day

Here is my first one!

This started with a base of Sally Hansen - Without A Stitch, then one coat of a GOSH blue which I have had forever from a bargain bin in Superdrug so I don't know the name of! When it was all dry, I took a cotton pad with a tiny dap of remover and lightly brushed the surface until you could see the base colour.

I have no idea what I was going for with it but I kinda like it!
